I discovered this artist through Pinterest. I find her work perfect for "shabby chic" interiors and baby's rooms because the composition of the pieces and the colors are out of a fairy tale. Something about the simplicity on the theme with the hues used is just "romantic".

Let's get Classy - Gio Ponti & Jean-Michel Frank

In this post, I would like to honor great designers that created timeless pieces, marked tendencies, and that who's pieces and interiors will always be a guide to generations to come. Daring back then, they reinvented shapes, material applications, and created styles that will never be outdated. Richard Serras' sculptures might not be adequate for placing in interiors, but nonetheless, they have inspired so many designers, that it is hard not to dedicate a post to this artist.

His sculptures defy gravity, always in line with organic movement, and creating so many different sensations in the minds of each individual. His installations make you feel like you are in Pan's Labyrinth, as if you were a young child who wants to explore more.

Another amazing artist that has a lot of fans in Chicago, is Anish Kapoor. Of course he is known worldwide, but one of his sculptures is in the heart of Chicago with another installation from Jaume Plensa.

Kapoor's work is defying gravity and illusion, which he masters without a blink.

I am so proud of the city I live in and its support for the Arts. I could not resist posting about this great artist that means so much to the city.

In the Interior Design Industry, we often guide our selections based on the curation of Art.  Because these disciplines often go hand in hand, I would like to share some of my favorite artists.

Jaume Plensa is one of my favorite artists, and living in Chicago, it gives me great pleasure to see his work in one of the main and more visited areas. Originally I thought his art spoke to me because we share origins, culture,.. but soon I realized that his art is universal. It touches everyone that has the chance to see it, interact with it, and can make us feel (sometimes very small because of the scale of his work).

I hope you enjoy some of his works as much as I do.
